Yes, RW says Nora G is probably more at the militant end of things, but he gives his experience of how even a restaurant using the bread knife to chop his fruit makes him feel sick, so her strong point of view is born out in real life experiences. Hopefully the article here isn't too intimidating...Amely Greevenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10099440085095789648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8189021682515395995.post-55438397261615139532010-11-12T07:49:42.396-08:002010-11-12T07:49:42.396-08:00I've been grain free for almost six weeks and ...I've been grain free for almost six weeks and I've never felt better, so I can speak paleo to that extent at least.

People in my life have told me everything from, "You're going to have less energy because you aren't eating any carbs." (and when I pointed out that I'm eating plenty of fruit and veggies they could only say, "but they aren't the same thing!") to, "But you need whole grains! You NEED them!" They couldn't answer why, though.

I do look, feel, and perform better than ever before and that's all the proof I need.Katihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14455244741613107879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8189021682515395995.post-5580617737045775592010-11-11T20:28:40.388-08:002010-11-11T20:28:40.388-08:00PS the alternative title of this post should be:

You are a visionary Gareth and you sure hear a lot of whining from people like me.Amely Greevenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10099440085095789648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8189021682515395995.post-15021252289428050382010-11-11T19:30:07.271-08:002010-11-11T19:30:07.271-08:00One of the reasons it takes so long to "corre...One of the reasons it takes so long to "correct the intellect" on this issue is that it is a massive huge mindblowing paradigm shift (see there I go getting all intellectual). What I mean is that being told "wheat is bad for you" is like being told "Neil Armstrong saw aliens". (google it, really). You're like --- wha????????

We've grown up on wheat, then were told to eat "whole wheat" and now these newbie voices are saying it's a toxin? That is a huge new thing to wrap the mind around and makes you almost fall into the rabbit hole: "if what the good guys told us along is wrong, what else have they been wrong about?" And maybe that's just too scary to think about.

Ok for more philosophy questions or specific intestinal motility issues, contact me directly. Always fun to talk about. ;-)Amely Greevenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10099440085095789648noreply@blogger.com
